I’m in the midst of a style crisis.
Maybe it’s the fact that I’m a little older, or the fact that I have a little more responsibility, or the fact that I feel a little less like I’m flailing through life… who knows?  Back in college I had a shaved head, I was super skinny, and I wore camouflage pants.  Now, I’ve got hips and long hair and I like to look like a woman.  Over the last few years I’ve figured out more and more of my personal style, and then all of a sudden, it changed.
I don’t want to peacock the way I used to.  I have a bunch of animal hats in my closet that I never want to wear.  My gothic lolita clothes from fanplusfriend.com feel like someone else’s fun stuff, my threadless shirts are worn out, and my wigs only feel right onstage in a sketch show.
Also, in the last year, I’ve started doing some new stuff, like getting my hair blown out once a month, and sewing my own clothes, and going to boot camp in the morning, and wearing eye shadow.   I have a blank canvas and a bunch of new pieces of things that I like and all the resources I need to make something happen, but my ideas feel wrong. What’s missing?   How do I want to look?
So, long story short, today I’m wearing a pompadour with the help of this tutorial.  We’ll see where I go next.
